Should Dolphins re-sign free agent OT who started 11 games last year?
The Miami Dolphins are making massive changes in 2026, as they've hired Jeff Hafley as their new head coach, Jon-Eric Sullivan as their new general manager and have already moved on from Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb this offseason.
When the new league year starts, over 35 Dolphins will hit some form of free agency, meaning a could portion of the roster could be turning over as well.
Included in that group of pending free agents in offensive tackle Larry Borom . Before he officially hits the market, let's discuss the decision that Hafley and Sullivan will make regarding his future this offseason.
Larry Borom 2025 season recap
After spending the first five years of his career with the Chicago Bears , Borom signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins last offseason. While he was expected to be a depth addition, Borom went on to play in 16 games and start 11 right tackle. Potential replacements for Larry Borom
With Kendall Lamm , Yodny Cajuste , Germain Ifedi and Obinna Eze also hitting free agency this offseason, Miami's top backup tackle under contract right now is Carter Warren , who signed a reserve/futures deal at the end of the year.
There are plenty of capable backups that will be on the market for the Dolphins to consider, including Trevor Penning , Austin Deculus , Bobby Hart , Charlie Heck , Brett Toth and Oli Udoh .
What contract could Larry Borom receive in free agency?
Borom played on a one-year, $2.5 million deal in 2025, but after starting 11 games for Miami, that number could jump up. However, Spotrac projects that his market value is $2.43 million annually.
Should the Dolphins re-sign Larry Borom?
The Dolphins desperately need offensive tackle depth, and we've already seen Borom fill the role in Miami. If he's only going to be making around $3 million for the year, they should at least bring him back to compete for the job.
