Terrell Owens' angry response to Bill Belichick's Pro Football Hall of Fame snub took an unexpected turn when the White House became collateral damage in his criticism.
The former NFL wide receiver did not hold back when reacting to the ongoing debate around Belichick's Hall of Fame status.
Owens' comments quickly gained traction, not only for their intensity but for how they dragged politics into a football argument.

Owens shared his thoughts in a post on social media, responding to discussion around Belichick's omission. The comments were published publicly via his official account .
"Just like in the White House, a bunch of idiots given too much power and they're abusing it! And the more that I've thought about it, with Bill's resume, accolades, and accomplishments, you shouldn't even need a committee for this one!
"Hey Pro Football HOF, make the Hall of Fame great again! This ain't it! JimPorter?" Owens wrote.
The remark framed the Hall of Fame voting process as fundamentally broken, comparing it to what Owens described as institutional dysfunction.
By referencing the White House, Owens escalated a football debate into a broader critique of power and decision-making, essentially taking a shot at US President Donald Trump.
Donald Trump earlier weighed in on the controversy, offering his own perspective on why Belichick's omission should not have happened.
"It is the same mindset that gave pro football the new and unwatchable 'Sissy' Kickoff Rule, that made it possible for Bill Belichick to not be elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "Both are ridiculous and should be overturned!"
Trump's comments aligned with Owens' broader criticism of decision-makers within the sport. By linking rule changes and Hall of Fame voting, Trump framed Belichick's snub as part of a larger pattern.
Together, the remarks from Owens and Trump have intensified scrutiny on how the Hall of Fame process is handled. The reaction shows how Belichick's absence from Canton continues to spark backlash well beyond traditional football circles.
