Barcelona twice drew level at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night, but Hansi Flick's side were undone by two Paris Saint Germain goals in five minutes late on in the third round of the Champions League league stage . Désiré Doué had a hand in two of the home side's goals, and Vitinha and Fabián Ruiz settled it after Lamine Yamal's 79th-minute equaliser.
The first half produced only one goal. João Neves picked out Doué, who put Luis Enrique's side ahead in the 38th minute. Barcelona had already had João Cancelo booked for a foul in the 17th minute, the only card Michael Oliver showed all night.
The visitors responded 10 minutes after the restart. Fermín López provided the assist and Xavi Espart scored the equaliser in the 55th minute.
Doué then turned provider. His pass set up Lucas Hernández to restore the lead in the 72nd minute. Doué was replaced after 78 minutes, by which point he had taken 4 shots and made 4 key passes. His match rating of 9 was the highest on the pitch.
Barcelona drew level for a second time in the 79th minute when Lamine Yamal scored unassisted. The forward finished with a rating of 7.84, the best of any Barcelona player.
The parity lasted two minutes. Vitinha restored the hosts' lead in the 81st minute, and Fabián Ruiz added the fourth in the 86th minute from Achraf Hakimi's assist. Ruiz took 5 shots during the match and was rated 8.2.
The scoreline could have been heavier. PSG put 14 shots on target to Barcelona's 5, and Joan García made 10 saves. The home side generated expected goals of 3.74 against 2.25 for the visitors, despite having only 47% of the ball. Barcelona completed 472 of their 539 passes, but that control did not stop PSG from finding the target.
The defeat was Barcelona's first of the season. Before the trip to Paris, they had beaten Real Betis 5-2 and Galatasaray 4-1.
PSG have now won six in a row in all competitions. They beat Manchester City 4-2 and Marseille 2-1 during that run. This was also their third consecutive win over Barcelona, following a 2-1 victory in Barcelona on 1 October 2025 and a 4-1 win there on 16 April 2024. Barcelona's most recent win in the fixture was a 3-2 success in Paris on 10 April 2024.
Both clubs return to domestic action on Sunday 25 October. Barcelona host Real Madrid in La Liga, while PSG welcome Lyon in Ligue 1.
