- Drake Maye urges Patriots to take down Bills for the division Sunday
FOXBOROUGH - In theory, the Patriots will have several opportunities to wrap up the AFC East over the course of the remaining four games.
They don’t need to come out victorious Sunday against Buffalo for that to happen. A loss wouldn’t prevent that from ultimately happening.

But Drake Maye strongly urged the team not to mess around. He wants his team to finish the job done when the Patriots (11-2) host the second-place Bills (9-4) this weekend.
He doesn’t want to give Josh Allen’s team any spark of hope.
“I think it’s important. It’s really important to do it here, do it while we have a chance to face them head-to-head,” Maye said during his media session Wednesday. “There’s no better way to win the division than with the team that’s fighting to crawl back and to keep themselves as division champs.
“So, it’s an opportunity for us to do it here, do it versus them and not have it .... what’s the saying when you have it in your own hands? ... yeah, control your own destiny. That’s what we have here.”

Maye said the Patriots want to avoid having the Bills hang around. That’s why getting the job done on the first crack is so important.
“I know we can do it down the road, but we want to do it this weekend at home against a division opponent coming in that plays at a high level,” Maye said of the Bills. “I’m looking forward to being in front of the fans and getting out there with my teammates. It’s fun to play in these type of games.”
