Draymond Green reveals which players are on his all-time Warriors Mount Rushmore

Draymond Green reveals which players are on his all-time Warriors Mount Rushmore originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area

The Warriors have had incredible talent come through the organization over the years, but only one core group has built a dynasty.

Draymond Green was asked to name his Warriors all-time Mount Rushmore on “Post Moves” with Candace Parker and Aliyah Boston .

Steph Curry , Steve Kerr, Klay Thompson , and Draymond Green,” he proclaimed. “I don’t think there’s any other way to slice that.”

Other Warriors legends who are deserving include Chris Mullin , Rick Barry and Wilt Chamberlain . Green’s explanation of his choices was simple.

“Are we talking Mount Rushmore? That would be based on importance,” Green stated. “No question.”

Parker and Boston’s faces dropped in shock when Green surprisingly included coach Steve Kerr in his top four. This comes as even more of a surprise, given his recent comments about Kerr that have gone viral.

“As much as he’s done for me in basketball, a part of me thinks he’s hindered me in my career and what I could have become,” Green said on “ The Draymond Green Podcast .” “But what he’s also helped me become. You have to take the good with the bad, man.”

Another shocking addition was Klay Thompson, especially because of the way he left the organization back in July of 2024. Thompson was influential in the four championships Golden State achieved, which was the criterion Green was judging by.

“A part of this era ended when Klay left, Green stated. “It’s a little different.”

When looking back at the Warriors franchise to this point, what sticks out is the championship run. That run doesn’t happen without the core of Curry, Thompson, Green, and Kerr. Kevin Durant made his mark in the three seasons he was with the team, but the longevity of the core four is something that may never be replicated.

It’s hard to stay in one spot for your whole career; it’s even harder to maintain that standard of excellence for so many years. Thompson’s 13 years in the Bay will be remembered forever, and the efforts of Green, Curry, and Kerr are rooted in Warriors history.
