In 2007, Getzlaf helped lead Anaheim to its only Stanley Cup to date. He scored seven goals and 17 points in that run to the Cup. Anaheim took down the Ottawa Senators in five games to claim that championship.
"My family and I are so grateful to the Samuelis and the Ducks organization for this incredible honor," said Getzlaf in a statement released by the Ducks. "None of this would be possible without all the amazing teammates, coaches and support staff I had in my career. I thank them all and can't wait to celebrate in front of our great fans in January."
The Ducks are looking to build on their return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season. Anaheim begins its 2026-27 campaign on October 2 against the Vegas Golden Knights.
