- Duke in the NBA: Cameron Boozer makes his debut, Grayson Allen shines

Wednesday marked opening night for 22 different NBA teams, including the Memphis Grizzlies . This meant recent No. 3 overall pick Cameron Boozer would make his NBA debut as Memphis faced the Utah Jazz . While Boozer did struggle, he once again proved himself as a winning player.
The former Duke Blue Devil finished with only seven points on 2-for-15 shooting but did grab 11 rebounds and dish out five assists. As a result, he finished with a plus-minus of plus-32, higher than any of his teammates, including Ty Jerome, who scored 45 points. The Grizzlies cruised to a 20-point victory over the Jazz (123-103).
Having returned to play in the state of North Carolina for the Charlotte Hornets , Grayson Allen made his regular season debut with the team against Brooklyn. Allen led the Hornets in scoring, finishing with 21 points on 6-for-9 shooting off the bench, including five made 3-pointers. Even without his schoolmate Kon Knueppel, the Hornets held on to a 110-103 victory against the Nets.
Boozer's former teammate at Duke, recent second-round pick Isaiah Evans, made his NBA debut as well, with the Minnesota Timberwolves . However, the former Blue Devils sharpshooter only received two garbage time minutes against the Miami Heat in a blowout (131-106), where he recorded one rebound.
