Martin, undrafted last year out of Memphis, spent his rookie year with the Ravens, bouncing several times between the practice squad and active roster. He played in three games as a game-day elevation with no defensive snaps and 34 on special teams.
On the opening kickoff return in a Week 13 game against the Bengals at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Martin suffered a torn ACL and missed the rest of the season. He was released on Jan. 12.
Martin, 6-foot, 230 pounds, spent 2020 through 2022 at East Tennessee State in Johnson City, Tenn., where he had 103 tackles and 3 ½ sacks in 18 games. He transferred to Memphis, where he spent 2023 and 2024. He was named to the American Athletic Conference 1st-team in 2023 after recording 17 tackles for loss with two interceptions.
Martin adds linebacker depth behind starters Zack Baun and Jihaad Campbell . With Nakobe Dean now with the Raiders, the only depth linebackers the Eagles had on the roster were a couple 5th-round picks – 2024 selection Jeremiah Trotter Jr. out of Clemson and last year's 5th-rounder, Smael Mondon from Georgia.
The Ravens' special teams coach, Randy Brown, is the father of Eagles special teams assistant Tyler Brown.
