Eagles' Britain Covey ruled out against Cowboys originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia
Eagles return man Britain Covey has been ruled out after one quarter against the Cowboys.
Covey suffered a knee injury in the first quarter on Monday Night Football. He was initially called questionable to return but was then ruled out for the rest of the game.
While the Cowboys haven't yet punted in this game, the Eagles list their backup punt returner as first-round pick Makai Lemon. Without DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, Lemon also has a huge role on offense in this game.
Without Covey on kick returns, the Eagles returners are now Dameon Pierce and Elijah Mitchell. Both of those guys began the season on the practice squad.
Covey this year has returned 14 punts for 177 yards (12.6 average).
