The Eagles removed a key name from their roster Friday, waiving injured wide receiver Johnny Wilson , signing center Zeke Correll and wide receiver Brandon Hayes, and placing cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields on injured reserve.
Wilson had been sidelined by a knee injury during camp after spending the 2025 season recovering from knee and ankle surgeries. Because he was waived with an injury designation, Wilson will pass through waivers. If he is unclaimed, he can revert to Philadelphia 's injured reserve list unless the sides reach an injury settlement.
Castro-Fields had been dealing with a heel injury and did not participate during the Eagles ' joint practices with the New England Patriots . His move to injured reserve removes a competitor from a secondary that is still evaluating its depth behind Quinyon Mitchell , Cooper DeJean and Riq Woolen .
Correll gives Philadelphia another option at the center position. He started 13 games at center for North Carolina State in 2024 after previously playing at Notre Dame. Correll entered the NFL with Minnesota in 2025 but was waived by the Vikings this offseason.
Hayes returns for another stint with the Eagles after being released before the preseason opener. His addition supplies another receiver as DeVonta Smith and Makai Lemon work back from hamstring injuries and Elijah Moore manages a neck injury.
The four moves arrive before Philadelphia's second preseason game against New England . Correll and Hayes will have limited time to learn the playbook, but both could receive opportunities as the Eagles prepare for final roster cuts.
