A.J. Brown and the Philadelphia Eagles ' season came to an end on Sunday in the wild-card round. Philadelphia failed to capitalize on its home-field advantage, suffering a season-ending 23-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers .
Brown registered three receptions in the game for 25 yards. The three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, however, missed a crucial deep ball in the second quarter. Right after the play, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni rushed Brown on the sideline. The Eagles coach confronted Brown, resulting in a heated exchange between the two. Dom DiSandro, the Eagles ' head of security, had to step in to separate Sirianni and Brown.

Sirianni played down the incident after the halftime break. Speaking to Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews early in the third quarter, the 44-year-old acknowledged that emotions run high during the playoffs .
Sirianni also said that "after this game, we'll go back to loving each other." The Eagles coach confirmed that he and Brown are "just fine."
Brown, however, decided to leave early after the loss, declining to speak to the media. Brown reportedly went around to hug quarterback Jalen Hurts and a few other teammates before abruptly leaving the locker room.
As for Sirianni, the Eagles coach clarified after the game that the confrontation happened as he attempted to get Brown off the field for a punt. Sirianni had nothing but good things to say about his star wideout.
"I love A.J. I think he knows how I feel about him," said the Eagles coach. "I have a special relationship with him. We've probably [gone] through every emotion you can possibly have together. We've laughed together, we've cried together, we've yelled at each other. We're both emotional.
"I was trying to get him off the field, and that happens in this game. That happens in this game, but I love him."
Brown just completed his fourth season with the Eagles. In 2024, he signed a three-year, $96 million extension through the 2029 season.
