Tim Tebow spent two decades building a name on faith, service, and a squeaky-clean image. Now that name is attached to an alleged scam, and the way he's handling it is drawing fire. Pablo Torre, one of the investigators shedding light on the alleged scam alongside Mother Jones reporter Kiera Butler, requested an interview from Tebow. However, his alleged ignorance has seemingly fumed Torre.
"All the sports figures got requests for comment from us at this point," Torre said on his YouTube channel
. "And what we want to know is does this bother you? Does any of this bother you? What your name, image, and likeness was used for. If it was to do allegedly predatory scheming that victimized sincere, perhaps financially undereducated people who wanted to know how to save themselves. Like the reaction is not merely, oh no, this is embarrassing for me. It's, I presume also something like your conscience reminding you that this is fu*ked up."

The controversy stemmed from Tim Tebow's association with Life Surge, which is a faith-based, for-profit wealth-building and motivational organization that hosts large, arena-sized events across the United States.
Tebow was considered the marquee face of the organization, having spoken at 44 Life Surge events since 2021. Investigative reports even noted he was paid between $50,000 and $100,000 per appearance. However, the core allegations around Tebow and Life Surge came from the way they operate.

According to reports, the attendees are drawn to stadium-sized events by cheap admission tickets (often under $50) and a star-studded lineup of Christian athletes, pastors, and performers.

At the initial event, attendees are pressured to register for a three-day investment seminar typically priced at $97. Once inside those three-day classes, participants face aggressive pitches for advanced "SurgeU" coaching programs costing anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000.
Later, Federal Trade Commission (FTC) complaints and interviews even revealed that representatives allegedly encouraged attendees who couldn't afford the fees to max out credit cards, take out home equity loans, or liquidate retirement accounts to fund the classes.
After Pablo Torre and Kiera Butler publicly released their reports on Life Surge, they also shared a comment from an alleged victim on the Pablo Torre Finds Out
podcast.
"I am so devastated that Christians like Tim Tebow made me trust in something that has taken so much money from me. This is evil, especially because I'm disabled on a limited income."

Even though Tim Tebow may not have been part of the alleged scam, he is seemingly receiving intense scrutiny. A few days ago, Tebow also released a statement
clarifying his stance on the matter.
"The allegations are extremely, extremely serious, and it's something that we take very serious," Tebow said. "So, for us, we're having our team do an investigation, but also pausing our relationship 'til we can learn more about the facts to be able to understand more."
Following this statement, Pablo Torre seemingly expected Tim Tebow to address the alleged scam publicly. However, the sports personalities involved with Life Surge, such as Boston Celtics HC Joe Mazzula, Saquon Barkley, Nick Sirianni, Brandon Graham, and Cooper DeJean, have not responded yet.
