'Embarrassing' Turnout At Former NFL Player's Funeral Sparks Outrage

The lack of NFL players at the funeral for wide receiver Rondale Moore sparked serious outrage on social media.

Moore, 25, was pronounced dead in February. He was found deceased in his hometown of New Albany, Indiana.

"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Rondale Moore. While we are working to understand the facts, we have spoken with Rondale's family to offer our condolences and the full support of the Minnesota Vikings . We have also been in communication with our players, coaches, and staff, and will make counseling and emotional support resources available to anyone in need. Our thoughts are with Rondale's family and friends during this devastating time."

Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell was crushed, too.

"I am devastated by the news of Rondale's death. While Rondale had been a member of the Vikings for a short time, he was someone we came to know well and care about deeply. He was a humble, soft-spoken, and respectful young man who was proud of his Indiana roots. As a player, he was disciplined, dedicated and resilient despite facing adversity multiple times as injuries sidelined him throughout his career. We are all heartbroken by the fact he won't continue to live out his NFL dream, and we won't all have a chance to watch him flourish. My prayers are with Rondale's family, friends, teammates and coaches as we all deal with this tragic news."

In the wake of his death, Moore's funeral was held this weekend.

However, NFL player Kyle Pitts shared online that there was a serious lack of teammates in attendance.

“Crazy how only about 6 maybe 7 of your teammates in the NFL showed up for you today smfh. All that talk about fake emotion and nobody want to show up to lay you to rest. Just at a loss of words.”

NFL fans are not happy

"Sadly he’s right. Everybody pretends on social media," one fan wrote.

"I understand where Pitts is coming from but he also needs to learn that people have untreated trauma that prevents them from attending funerals. It takes them back to that trauma. That’s why some will attend the viewing and not the funeral," one fan added.

"Unreal. Sickening. This may be the clearest window into the isolation and loneliness in his heart when he took his own life. Virtue signaling on social media, on podcasts, and on television does nothing for anyone. Showing up in person might have meant everything to his family," one fan added.

It's sad to see, that's for sure.
