- Emotional Lions Locker Room Scene Unfolds as Dan Campbell and Jared Goff Address Jack Campbell Situation
Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell has recorded 42 solo tackles and six total pressures across the 2026 season, anchoring the team's defense despite a slower statistical start compared to his previous campaign.
The aftermath of the Lions' hard-fought 19–15 victory over the Minnesota Vikings quickly shifted focus away from the scoreboard as uncertainty loomed over the locker room.

In an emotional postgame address, head coach Dan Campbell and quarterback Jared Goff turned the team's focus from a hard-fought victory to the sobering reality of their teammate's injury.

In a postgame video, Dan Campbell told the team , "I do not have any more information on Jack. We don't know anything else at this point. So here's what I want to do, man. We're going to take a knee. Now, I want to pray for Jack, okay, and let's keep him in our thoughts and prayers. That's a hell of a win, man. You guys break it down. I love you boys. Stick together. I know that's tough with Jack. Stick together, lean on each other, all right? Good job. Win on three. One, two, three. Win."

Campbell was hurt making a tackle on the first play of the fourth quarter. He stayed face down on the field before medical personnel placed him on a backboard and moved him to a cart. The Lions said he was alert and breathing before he went to the hospital.
Detroit later said Campbell was resting at the hospital and that preliminary indications were positive. The team did not provide a diagnosis or return timetable.
Jared Goff also addressed the injury after the game. "Jack's deal was definitely scary," Goff said. "It just brings you back to reality for a moment that he's a husband and a father. We're praying for him and hope he's going to be all right."
The Lions won their third straight game and improved to 5-2. Jahmyr Gibbs rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown, and Goff completed 18 of 25 passes for 176 yards and one touchdown.

Campbell was a first-team All-Pro last season. The 2023 No. 18 pick became the first NFL player in seven years with 150 tackles, five sacks and three forced fumbles.
With the Lions sitting at 2-0 in division play and turning their focus toward a November 8 matchup against Miami, the primary concern in Detroit remains Jack Campbell's health as the team awaits further updates.
