Ahead of the Miami Heat 's rematch against the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night, the team suffered a painful 121-95 loss to them on Tuesday, cementing their postseason fate that's all too familiar for the fans and everybody in the franchise alike. With the Heat's season ending in three games , the team will once again have to go through the play-in tournament if they want a chance to compete in the playoffs, garnering a blunt reaction from head coach Erik Spoelstra .

This will now mark the fourth straight year that Miami has been in the play-in tournament, as, despite the first go-around leading the team to make a miraculous run to the 2023 NBA Finals, the team has been vocal about avoiding the tourney this season.
Spoelstra would speak about the "disappointing" nature the team feels after the loss to Toronto on Tuesday.
"We're disappointed for sure that we weren't able to bring another level of competitive spirit to this," Spoelstra said, via the team's YouTube page. "That's what's disappointing. We're not thinking about the next step right now."
Bam Adebayo has arguably been the loudest player about not wanting to make the play-in tourney, alongside Tyler Herro , as both are the only two on the roster to be in each of the four appearances. However, the team has lost nine of its last 12 games, with an urgency to solve its woes.

"We have to figure it out or our a**es are going to be home," Adebayo said.
Heat's Bam Adebayo, Andrew Wiggins see bright side
Despite the disappointing feeling, the season isn't over as now the Heat prepare to finish out the season strong and get out of the play-in tourney, which, if there is a positive, they have done so successfully each year. Andrew Wiggins would even say that he will "never stop believing" in this team.
"We can score with anybody. We can defend like anybody. We've just got to put it together," Wiggins said.
Consequently, it remains to be seen which seed Miami finishes ahead of Thursday's game, as the team is currently 10th in the Eastern Conference.
