The FSU Seminoles are back in Doak Campbell Stadium this weekend for a game against the Central Arkansas Bears . It is an important game for Mike Norvell, who played at Central Arkansas from 2001-05.
FSU is looking to bounce back from a 50-36 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide on the road, their 10th straight loss on the road. The Seminoles are now 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the ACC.
They showed some positive signs in the game, but it was yet another disappointing performance from the defense, which gave up 567 yards of offense and allowed Alabama to score on their final nine possessions of the game, after forcing back-to-back three-and-outs to start the game.
Central Arkansas lost to SEMO last week and is now 2-2 on the season. The Bears are an FCS program, and this will be their first-ever game against an ACC program. They lost to the Missouri Tigers 61-6 last season in their only game against an FBS program.
Ahead of FSU-Central Arkansas, ESPN's Bill Connelly predicted the final score using his SP+ metrics. Connelly has FSU picking up a 48-7 victory, snapping their two-game winning streak. His metrics give FSU a 99% chance of winning.
FSU is the No. 54 team in the SP+ team rankings after Week 3. They have an overall rating of 57.6, with a 56.3 rating on offense and a -4.6 rating on defense. Central Arkansas is the No. 198 team and features a 19.4 overall rating. They have a 37.3 offensive rating and a 17.8 defensive rating.
The game between FSU and Central Arkansas starts at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday in Doak Campbell Stadium. The game is sold out and will air on the ACC Network.
