The 2026 meeting between Auburn and Baylor will be the final game of a two-game series that was agreed upon in 2018 . The series was originally supposed to be a home-and-home format, but plans changed last October when Auburn elected to move the final game of the series to a neutral site rather than to play the game in front of its fans at Jordan-Hare Stadium, which created the opportunity for Auburn and Baylor to play in downtown Atlanta, at the home of the Atlanta Falcons .
Auburn defeated Baylor in the 2025 season opener in Waco, 38-24, despite losing the yardage battle, 483-415. This season's game features the storyline of Auburn running back Bryson Washington getting the chance to play against his former squad. Washington, who rushed for 1,861 yards and 18 touchdowns for Baylor over the last three seasons , joined Auburn's roster through the transfer portal last offseason.
Auburn-Baylor is one of four games slated to air on ABC during opening weekend . The day begins with Alabama hosting East Carolina at 11 a.m. CT, with Clemson's return trip to LSU slated to begin after Auburn-Baylor at 6:30 p.m. CT. ABC will also air Ole Miss vs Louisville at Nissan Stadium in Nashville as a primetime game on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. CT.
