College football analyst David Pollack, a former ESPN College GameDay personality, expects Arch Manning to return to the SEC for the 2027 season.
However, Pollack does not believe Manning will be back at Texas.
Pollack said on the See Ball Get Ball podcast that he heard from a head coach in the SEC that Manning would enter the transfer portal after this season.
"Arch will not be at Texas next year. This is something that I've heard from an SEC coach, and I believe 100 percent is going to happen," Pollack said. "I think he'll be playing college football; I don't think it will be at Texas next year."
Manning has had an up-and-down fourth season in Austin. The Longhorns are 5-2 on the year, but Manning has thrown for only 1,507 yards with 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions in seven games.
Pollack believes Manning entering the transfer portal makes sense for the quarterback and for Texas.
"I think it will make a lot of sense for both to go their own ways, possibly. And I don't know what's going to happen the rest of the year, and I don't know what the coaching situation's gonna look like," Pollack said. "But I think it would probably be something that might be like, 'Hey, this is good for both of us. Maybe we both go our separate ways.'"
There was talk of benching Manning heading into last weekend's game against Ole Miss, following back-to-back losses to Oklahoma and Florida.
Manning had three turnovers against the Rebels, but Texas still found a way to win.
Still, there are plenty of people in Austin frustrated with the way Manning is playing.
If Manning does indeed enter the transfer portal, Pollack has an idea of where he will end up.
"That same coach that told me that actually said, 'I think he'll go to Georgia.' But I can't name names or any of that stuff," Pollack said.
