The NBA offseason has been a wild one, to say the least, and that is exactly what makes it so fun to watch. The entire summer was put on hold by four-time NBA champion LeBron James , who would sign with the Philadelphia 76ers .
There was also a six-team trade in July that was another crazy occurrence. The deal involved sending D'Angelo Russell to the Washington Wizards.
"As part of the elaborate six-team trade, the Washington Wizards are sending D'Angelo Russell, a future second-round pick and a future second-round pick swap to the Memphis Grizzlies , sources tell ESPN," ESPN's Shams Charania wrote.
The lefty guard was then traded to the Memphis Grizzlies before playing a game with the Wizards. The Grizzlies didn't have a plan for the former Los Angeles Laker and Golden State Warrior , so they decided to trade him.
"The Memphis Grizzlies have waived veteran point guard D'Angelo Russell, making him a free agent one month before the start of the season. Russell, 30, began last season with the Dallas Mavericks but has since been traded twice, first to Washington as part of the Anthony Davis trade in February and then to Memphis as part of a six-team deal over the summer. He never ended up playing a game for the Wizards or Grizzlies," ESPN wrote.
On Wednesday morning, Russell's next destination was announced. He will be joining the Shanghai Sharks in the Chinese Basketball Association.
D'Angelo Russell has reportedly agreed to a deal with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association. DLoading, 30, was a free agent after being released by the Grizzlies," Bleacher Report posted.
This is a great opportunity for Russell, as his time in the NBA seemed pretty stagnant, to say the least. The good news is that he will be playing for a championship team, so this is a real chance for him to showcase his talent.
During his career, he is known for his time with the Warriors and his second stint with the Lakers . Russell is a very streaky shooter and will try to prove he has what it takes to earn another shot in the NBA.
