The Atlanta Falcons are coming off a loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers , in which they didn't score any points, but they could've used some help on defense as well. That shouldn't be a problem for the rest of the season, as James Pearce Jr . is set to return to the field with his suspension officially lifted.
"Falcons DE James Pearce Jr. has completed his eight-game suspension, which has officially been lifted by Commissioner Roger Goodell. He is eligible to play Sunday vs. the Bengals and make his 2026 season debut," Ari Meirov of The33rdTeamFB wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Pearce was suspended for eight games for violating the league's personal conduct policy after he was arrested in February due to an altercation with his ex-girlfriend. He was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, fleeing and eluding police and resisting an officer with violence to his or her person.

Pearce has been around the team for the past few weeks, but he wasn't allowed to practice or work out with them. Head coach Kevin Stefanski noted how big it would be to add Pearce back to the mix.
"I see it as a positive to add a good player to the mix," Stefanski said via Daniel Fick of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "I think the way 'Brick' and the defensive staff have constructed this rush plan, obviously married up with the coverage plan, I think it's beneficial to all parties to do your job. But adding another good player to the mix is a good thing."
Pearce should definitely add another dynamic to the Falcons' defense, as they look to get more pressure on the quarterback as the season continues. That was no problem for Pearce during his rookie season last year, as he finished with 10 1/2 sacks, 10 tackles for loss and 16 quarterback hits.
