FC Cincinnati's Major League Soccer game against D.C. United Sept. 5 at TQL Stadium has been postponed to a later date.
The match has been postponed due to pitch conditions and player safety. The field is wet following two brief but strong rainstorms and was deemed unsafe to play on.

There were two lightning delays. The first was about 90 minutes. Players came out and began warming up before 9 p.m., but after about 10 minutes, another lightning delay was enforced.
Any fan with a ticket to the match will have the same ticket reissued for the rescheduled contest. Information for ticket credits will be announced by the club as soon as possible.
Players from FC Cincinnati and D.C. United warmed up in the rain Sept. 5, 2026, before their game at TQL Stadium was postponed.
Cincinnati remains in sixth place in the MLS Eastern Conference with 31 points (8-7-7). They were five points behind Charlotte. New York City won a point Sept. 4 with a draw against Nashville, and is in seventh. Orlando and Philadelphia are eighth and ninth after winning games Saturday for three points.

Cincinnati made changes to its starting back line following the departure of veteran center back Matt Miazga the night before. Miles Robinson was set to start in the middle of the back line, with Andrei Chirila and Kyle Smith on either side.
The rest of Cincy's lineup was pretty standard, with Roman Celentano in goal, Ender Echenique and Pavel Bucha on the wings, Obinna Nwobodo and Gerardo Valenzuela in central midfield, Evander at the 10 and Kevin Denkey and Ayoub Jabbari up top.
D.C. United star striker Tai Baribo, who missed last weekend's game with a knee injury, was available on the bench for the visitors. He has 12 goals, and presumably will be over that ailment when the game is rescheduled.

What's next for FC Cincinnati?
FC Cincinnati plays at Philadelphia Union Sept. 9 and hosts Charlotte FC Sept. 12 at TQL Stadium. Both games kick off at 7:30 p.m. Philly beat Montreal 2-0 Sept. 5 and has 27 points (7-10-6). Charlotte had a 0-0 draw with Houston and has 36 points (10-7-6).
