FCS All-American taking pre-draft visit with Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts will be hosting Stephen F. Austin cornerback Charles Demmings on an official pre-draft visit, according to Aaron Wilson .
During the pre-draft process, each NFL team can have up to 30 draft prospects take an official visit. These visits can be with first-round prospects all the way to UDFAs.

Colts' 2026 NFL draft prospect to watch: CB Charles Demmings
Demmings has played nearly 2,000 snaps on defense and has been very sticky in coverage throughout his career, allowing a completion rate of just 47%. He's also showcased strong ball production, generating nine interceptions and 35 pass breakups over four seasons.
Demmings was named an FCS All-American following the 2025 season.

Here is what NFL.com's Lance Zierlein had to say about Demmings in his pre-draft scouting report:
"Demmings is capable of mixing into a variety of coverages but is at his best starting from a press look. He has the hips/feet to match route breaks and the speed to stay with routes as they unfold. His recognition and instincts are average from off coverages and he can be a step slow to drive on throws in front of him. While Demmings lacks ideal play strength and is not a firm tackler, his ball skills and man-cover consistency could land him a roster spot as a future CB4 with gunner potential."
What is the Colts' need at cornerback?
The need here is relatively small. There's high-end talent, depth, and competition within this unit.
We know who the starters will be, but the two questions are how many roster spots are devoted to the cornerback position and who is left off the 53-man?
With Ward, Gardner, Moore, and Wallley as roster locks, that likely leaves Taylor-Britt, Edwards, Blackmon, Mitchell, and Jones competing for two or maybe three roster spots if the Colts go heavy here and keep seven cornerbacks.
