Spearheading the French national team's offense is Johannes, who finished with a game-high 17 points on 4-of-7 shooting from downtown, along with three boards, two assists and one steal.
Johannes' hot hand spells trouble for other nations in the tournament, and FIBA declared the "bad news" in a recent social media post that compiled her game highlights.
"Bad news for the rest of the World Cup. MJ IS LOCKED IN," the caption read.

The 31-year-old is also a solid contributor for the Liberty this season, averaging 8.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists on 42% shooting from the field.
Her production helped the Liberty secure a spot in the playoffs, and they are currently sixth in the league standings with a 24-16 win-loss record.
