The FIBA Women's World Cup has begun , and Team USA's first matchup was against China. With so much talent on the floor, many wanted to know who would be in the starting lineup, and head coach Kara Lawson decided to go with the seniors of the national team, which included Napheesa Collier, Kahleah Copper, Chelsea Gray, Breanna Stewart and Jackie Young.

Some would have assumed that Caitlin Clark might have gotten a chance to start with her ability to make plays for others, but it makes sense that the veterans got the nod. That doesn't mean that Clark won't play a big part on the team for the next two weeks.
Clark is one of the younger players on the team, and she'll have to earn her stripes like the others, such as Paige Bueckers, Angel Reese, Rhyne Howard, Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron. Some of these younger players have played with each other or against each other through their basketball career, and they've found themselves representing their country in the end.

"I feel like there was just so much talent around my age group, and it's been fun to watch everybody kind of come into their own and have their own college careers and now live their dream at the professional level. … It's just really cool, and feels like yesterday, honestly," Clark said via ESPN's Alexa Philippou.

When Clark played on the World Qualifying team i n March, and she was one of the top players who logged the most minutes in Puerto Rico. She also led the field with 6.4 assists per game, which helped her win MVP.
