Grushnikov came to North America when he joined the OHL's Hamilton Bulldogs, then played in the Dallas Stars ' organization. He never made it to the NHL with either Dallas or Calgary.
Now, Grushnikov has signed a contract with CSKA Moscow.
On paper, neither of these losses are huge, but these were two pieces of organizational depth with some decent professional experience, and Calgary will have to find ways of replacing them.
