Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Travis Sanheim was seemingly snubbed in the NHL Network Top-20 defenseman rankings. Dan Vladar was not when it came to the goalie rankings.
NHL Network analysts and producers ranked their Top-10 goalies in the NHL right now, and the Flyers' netminder finished 8th overall on the list.
Vladar sits in front of Jesper Wallstedt and Jakub Dobes, who are ranked 9th and 10th on this year's list. Ranked ahead of Vladar are Jake Oettenger at 7th, Logan Thompson at 6th, and Jeremy Swayman at 5th. Ilya Sorokin, Igor Shesterkin, and Connor Hellebuyck are 4th-, 3rd-, and 2nd-best. Unsurprisingly, Andrei Vasilevskiy is ranked as the top netminder in the league.
Some pretty good company for the Flyers' No. 1 goalie.
It was a well-earned honor for Vladar, who was the backbone for the Flyers last season. His 2.42 GAA and .906 SV% were career highs in the most games he's ever played. He also had a 2.18 GAA and a .922 SV% in the playoffs, which is even more impressive.
Vladar's big-time saves and steady presence between the pipes last season stole games for the team in 2025-26. He was rewarded with a 5-year deal worth $5.5 million annually .
Vladar becomes the first Flyers' goalie to crack the list since the rankings began in 2016. It seems like Philadelphia has found its goalie. It was a spectacular year for Dan Vladar , and he is getting proper recognition for it.
What do you think of the Flyers' goalie finishing the season as a top-10 goalie?
