The Edmonton Oilers were loosely linked to forward Michael Bunting this offseason, but if they had any intentions of signing the NHL journeyman, the Philadelphia Flyers have beat them to it.
As speculation swirls that the Oilers might be looking for a depth forward and trade rumors suggest Edmonton is moving a depth defender for another piece that could add a little offensive cushion, the Flyers inked Bunting to a one-year deal worth $1.2 million.
Is this a missed opportunity for the Oilers? Or, was Bunting not the right fit for what the Oilers needed?
