Last week, as training camps around the NFL got started, former Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman Hakeem Adeniji made news for signing with the Baltimore Ravens .
This week, Adeniji has made further news with the reveal of his retirement.
To start the week, the Ravens placed Adeniji on the reserve-retired list, per the NFL transaction wire.
So seemingly ends the career of a recent draft success story for the Bengals . Adeniji was a sixth-round pick by the Bengals in 2020 who overcame injury to earn starting reps, including an appearance in the Super Bowl.
Still just 28 years old, Adeniji has bounced around with teams like Minnesota and Cleveland before joining the Ravens this offseason.
As for the Bengals, they have revamped things over the years and finally return the same starting five offensive linemen for a second season for the first time in the Joe Burrow era.
