The Philadelphia Eagles remain a focal point as former longtime offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland's recent comments offer new insight into the team's offensive struggles during the 2025 season. Stoutland, who joined the organization in 2013 and departed in February 2026, addressed what derailed a unit expected to perform at an elite level during a discussion on Jason Kelce 's podcast.

The Eagles finished the season with an 11–6 record but did not meet expectations. The offense averaged 22.3 points per game, ranking 19th in the league, a decline that came despite one of the NFL's most talented and expensive rosters.
In response, the organization made significant coaching changes. Philadelphia parted ways with offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo and later hired Sean Mannion. Stoutland also departed after a lengthy tenure, marking the end of a key era for the coaching staff.
Questions surrounding the offensive regression persisted throughout the offseason for the Super Bowl LIX champions. Personnel was not considered the primary issue. Instead, attention shifted toward execution, situational awareness, and in-game decision-making.
The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov shared a clip on X, formerly Twitter, from the New Heights podcast featuring Jason and Travis Kelce, where Stoutland offered a direct explanation of the team's struggles.

"It's execution. It's calling the right play at the right time and not running bad plays into bad defenses. It ain't that hard."
Stoutland's remarks quickly gained attention across league circles. His candid assessment identified situational play-calling and consistency as the central issues. It did not point to flaws in the overall scheme or design.
Those problems surfaced repeatedly during the 2025 season. Despite elite talent, the Eagles' offense struggled to sustain drives and execute in critical moments, preventing Philadelphia from maintaining its championship standard.

With a new coordinator in place and adjustments underway, the Eagles now look to address those shortcomings. Stoutland's insight offers a clear path forward as the organization works to restore its offensive identity in 2026.
