We are all living in a world where the NFL is king and social media is influential. Part of the deal is that everyone has a platform. Expectations sometimes work like a microwave society. We want everything now. No one cares about development. No one has any patience. Just ask a Philadelphia Eagles fan if you know one.
We've all fallen victim to the patience issue, or at a minimum, we've seen someone else do so. If guys get off to slow starts or need a little more development, we are told that those guys 'suck'.
What gets lost in those types of statements is that we acknowledge that quarterbacks need snaps. We don't often believe the same rules apply to other positions.
But look at Jordan Davis . Look at the leap he has made. Look at where Adoree' Jackson is in comparison to where he was at the beginning of the Eagles ' regular season.
Darius Slay gives Adoree' Jackson his seal of approval.
Things certainly change quickly in the NFL, don't they? If you woke up late on Tuesday, you learned Philip Rivers was back and potentially in line to start for the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
Wait! What happened now?
In a few short months, Darius Slay left the Eagles to join the Pittsburgh Steelers . Then, the Steelers moved on . It seemed that there was mutual interest in a reunion with Philadelphia , but the Buffalo Bills claimed him off waivers . Slay doesn't seem to be happy. He reportedly will retire before he signs with Buffalo .
Now that he has some free time, he's been watching some Eagles games. A steadily improving Adoree' Jackson caught his attention, so Slay expressed his appreciation via his official X account.
His comment section was littered with Eagles fans saying how much they miss him. Some even chimed in with agreement, but there's a better angle here. Sometimes, patience pays off. Jackson's recent play is miles ahead of what he showed upon arrival. That alone is reason to smile.
This is how it works sometimes: a player needs coaching, time, and the chance to settle in. Jackson improved little by little and step by step. As Slay noted, he's been solid. That's music to the ears of Eagles fans and players, both current and former.
