- Former ESPN Anchor Cindy Brunson Defends Sydney Colson's Behavior
Former ESPN anchor Cindy Brunson is coming to the defense of WNBA analyst Sydney Colson.
Colson, a former WNBA guard turned analyst, was working for Amazon Prime during the Las Vegas Aces vs. Indiana Fever series. Colson and a colleague were seen getting into it with some fans following Game 2. Colson had to be "physically restrained" from going after a fan after Game 2 in Indiana.

"Instead of maintaining professional distance as a credentialed media member, Colson and fellow Amazon analyst Theresa Plaisance (also a podcast co-host with Wilson) left their courtside seats and inserted themselves into the altercation," Fox News reported.
"As arena personnel escorted Colson and Plaisance away from the baseline, a spectator in a red Fever shirt directed a comment toward them. Plaisance pointed back and called him a "little (expletive) boy." Colson then continued pushing aggressively toward the fan as an Amazon staffer struggled to hold her back. Video footage captured her shouting, "Who do you think you are? (Expletive), who the (expletive) do you think you are?"

In the wake of the incident, Colson – who played with Caitlin Clark in 2025 – faced a lot of backlash online.

However, Cindy Brunson, a longtime ESPN anchor, is coming to her defense on social media.
"Good morning to @SydJColson She is a gem and I'm so lucky to be a small part in her big orbit. Syd is a real one, period," she wrote on X.
Brunson is making it clear where she stands on Colson, while most fans seem to agree that her behavior was unprofessional earlier in the week.
