The NFL Draft is just over a week away, and players are hoping to make some last-second impressions on teams in hopes of hearing their names called. One of those players is former Florida State quarterback Tommy Castellanos. Casteallanos declared for the NFL Draft after another year of eligibility was denied by the NCAA.

Now, in an effort to make sure his name is called at the draft, the former FSU QB is getting work at wide receiver as well, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

“Former Florida State QB Tommy Castellanos has drawn interest ahead of the NFL Draft as a quarterback — and a slot receiver. Castellanos, who also played at UCF and BC, did WR drills at the end of his pro day and is training at both positions,” Pelissero posted on X, formerly Twitter.

The move from quarterback to wide receiver is not completely uncommon. Terrelle Pryor did that coming out of Ohio State, and he had a 1,000-yard season for the Cleveland Browns later in his career. Antwaan Randle El is another success story of moving from QB to WR, doing so out of Indiana. One of the most famous may be Julian Edelman , who was a quarterback at Kent State.

Castellanos could be a late-round pick in the upcoming draft, but if he is not selected, the athleticism he displayed in college will lead to a team signing him as an undrafted free agent, likely to play a position other than quarterback.
