Former FSU guard commits to UNLV

The transfer portal is in full swing for Florida State, and the Seminoles will be looking to now fill Cam Miles' shoes in 2026.

Miles, a guard for FSU who averaged 5.4 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game last season, entered the transfer portal and posted to Instagram to announce his commitment to the UNLV Rebels.

The 6'2" guard appeared in 25 games for Florida State and helped an offense that was one of the most frequent in taking three-point shots in the country.

Miles joins a UNLV program that was NIT-bound in 2026. The Rebels finished 18-17 with an 11-9 Mountain West Conference record. They were defeated in the second round of the NIT by Tulsa, 77-66.

In this new era of the transfer portal, there's reason to believe that Head Coach Luke Loucks will be able to overcome this challenge. Speaking to the National Association of Basketball Coaches , Loucks said, "I would talk to college coaches all the time just through relationships of they're like 'it's the wild west' and I'm like 'that sounds normal man.' Roster turnover is normal. Every roster is a puzzle that you've got to put together, and you've got to make the pieces fit."

FSU has already added three players through the transfer portal in point guard Anthony Robinson II, forward Shon Abaev, and guard Kameron Taylor. Florida State currently has the 10th-best recruiting class in the country, per 247Sports.
