- Former Gonzaga wing Tyon Grant-Foster selected No. 15 by Sioux Falls Skyforce in G League Draft
Oct. 24—Tyon Grant-Foster will start his professional basketball career in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, after the former Gonzaga wing was selected No. 15 overall by the Sioux Falls Skyforce — an affiliate of the Miami Heat — in Saturday's NBA G League Draft.
The 26-year-old Grant-Foster wasn't selected in the 2026 NBA Draft, but signed an NBA Summer League deal with the San Antonio Spurs, making one appearance at the California Classic and three more at Vegas Summer League.
The well-traveled wing had stops at four colleges before transferring to Gonzaga for his final season of eligibility. The NCAA initially denied Grant-Foster's eligibility waiver, but the veteran wing filed a lawsuit against the sport's governing body and secured a preliminary injunction in Spokane County Superior Court, clearing him to suit up for Mark Few's team in 2025-26.
Grant-Foster played at Indian Hills Community College, Kansas, DePaul and Grand Canyon before transferring to Gonzaga last spring. The wing mostly played a bench role for the Zags, starting in just six of 35 games, but still finished as one of the team's three double-digit scorers while averaging 11.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists.
Grant-Foster was one of three first-round picks for Sioux Falls on Saturday. The team used its No. 7 pick on Rhode Island's Tyler Cochran before taking Central Arkansas' Masai Olowokere with the 24th pick.
The Texas Legends (Dallas Mavericks) had the first overall pick, selecting former Baylor and San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan.
