A former Trent Baalke draft pick is reportedly signing with the Houston Texans .
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, edge rusher Derek Parish reached an agreement with the Texans on Tuesday. Parish was a seventh-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2023 NFL draft.
Parish spent a portion of the 2023 season on the Jaguars' practice squad but never appeared in a game.
Parish played fullback and edge rusher in college at Houston. With the Jaguars, he was listed as a tight end .
Most recently, Parish appeared in 10 games with the UFL's DC Defenders. He recorded 23 tackles, including 4.0 for a loss, with three sacks.
Parish has also spent time in the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts.
