The 2025 NFL season for the New York Jets was a complete disaster. Multiple key players were hurt, the team traded away some of its top stars, and even owner Woody Johnson publicly expressed his frustrations with Justin Fields.

But the worst part of the season was how it finished. Besides the final home stretch of the year cementing their infamous status as the only team in NFL history to not record a single interception all season, they were blown out by an average of 23 points per game.
Jonathan Jones of The Athletic shared quotes from former coaches and Aaron Glenn on the 2025 season, and one ex-coach for the Jets called those five weeks to close the year his "worst football experience" that he had ever had.

"Worst football experience I have had," a former Jets coach told Jones about the team's final five-game stretch of the 2025 season.

Those last five games cemented NFL history in two ways, both some of the more embarrassing records a team could set.
The first was the zero-interception season for the Jets, which is one of the more brutal records a team has ever set in NFL history.
The other was that they became the first team in the league's history to lose five straight games, at any point of the season, by 23 or more points.
It's hard to blame a former coach for calling that final five-game stretch the "worst football experience" of their life. It really doesn't get much worse than that.
Glenn's first season as Jets' head coach was a disaster; there's no way around it. But plenty of seasons in NFL history could be considered a disaster of equal, if not greater, proportions.

But no team in NFL history has had such a terrible five-game stretch as the Jets did, and they did so in the last five weeks of the season. Looking back, that five-game stretch was awful for the Jets, and this former coach can easily be sympathized with.
They lost 34-10 to the Miami Dolphins , 48-20 to the Jacksonville Jaguars , 29-6 to the New Orleans Saints , 42-10 to the New England Patriots , and finally 35-8 to the Buffalo Bills to finish out the 2025 season.
That five-game stretch is arguably the worst stretch of games for a team in NFL history. Five straight blowouts of at least 23 points, and at most 32 points. Plus, they cemented their status in history with zero picks all year.

A former coach for the Jets calling that five-game stretch the "worst football experience" of their career is understandable. It might even be the worst stretch in NFL history, let alone for just this coach and the Jets. That's how bad it was.
