LAWRENCE — Kansas football just picked up another player through the transfer portal Sunday, and this time it's a talent from an in-state rival.
Former Kansas State running back Dylan Edwards signaled in a social media post on Instagram that he'll be continuing his college career at KU. The Jayhawks add another talented running back from the portal, in addition to Colorado State's Jalen Dupree and Syracuse's Yasin Willis. Edwards also spent time at Colorado earlier in his career before Kansas State.

"Fall seven times, stand up eight," Edwards posted, in part, on Instagram.
Edwards only played in four games this season as he dealt with an injury, and finished with 205 yards rushing and two scores on the ground. Then-Kansas State coach Chris Klieman also discussed late in the fall that Edwards eventually decided to redshirt and leave the team. Klieman described the situation at the time as unfortunate, but wished Edwards well.
In 2024, Edwards rushed for 546 yards and five touchdowns for Kansas State. He also had 19 receptions for 133 yards and two touchdowns. He was also an asset on kick returns and punt returns, scoring a punt return touchdown at one point, too.

Edwards will join a new-look running backs room at KU that will have to make up for the departures of its two leading players from 2025, redshirt seniors Daniel Hishaw Jr. and Leshon Williams. He'll also continue to play in his home state. Momentum continues for KU coach Lance Leipold in the transfer portal.
