Former Michigan State tight end retires from football
The long and extremely unique football career of former Michigan State football tight end Matt Seybert has officially come to a close. According to James Larsen of PFN, Seybert is offically retiring from the sport of football after a pro career that touched the NFL, UFL, and USFL.
Seybert played three seasons with the Spartans after transferring to East Lansing from Buffalo in 2016. This seems like ancient history, but Seybert had to sit out that season per the rules of that time. Seybert was a solid tight end for the Spartans, catching 26 passes for 284 yards and three touchdowns in 2019, and was able to parlay that performance into a nice pro career.

He had a few stints with the Los Angeles Chargers before becoming one of the top tight ends in the USFL . Now, Seybert is trying his hand at acting. He will star as NFL legend Dave Casper in the upcoming John Madden biopic.
