- Former NFL Veteran Robert Nkemdiche Arrested On Troubling Charges
Former NFL defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche was recently arrested for an unusual reason.
Nkemdiche, the No. 29 overall pick from 2016, started his NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals before bouncing around the league. Despite being considered an undeniable talent, he only had 59 tackles, 11 QB hits, 4.5 sacks in 38 career games.

According to a police report obtained by TMZ Sports, Nkemdiche was spotted leaving a Kroger in Georgia with "many large objects, square and rectangular shapes, consistent with concealed grocery items, inside his sweatpants."
The police called for backup after spotting Nkemdiche outside of the grocery store. Although rep for Kroger apparently didn't want to press charges, the authorities learned there were multiple warrants out for the former Ole Miss star.
"The officer stated Nkemdiche no longer had items in his pants ... but says frozen grocery items, candy bars and almond milk were found after a search of the Kroger and gas station parking lots," TMZ's report states. "Officers say they then ran Nkemdiche's name and found multiple warrants in several states in the system ... including three in Georgia. The officer says county officials asked the officer to place a hold on Nkemdiche."

Football fans saddened by this news.
There was a point in Nkemdiche's career where he seemed destined for stardom. The fact that he's now making headlines for this reason is unfortunate.
"Made $13 million in the league and now stealing groceries," one fan commented.
"That's tough. Went from NFL contracts to stealing groceries? In all seriousness, I hope he gets help," a second fan said.
"This dude was ranked the number 1 Athlete in HS at one point," another fan pointed out.

Nkemdiche last played for the San Francisco 49ers in 2022. As of now, a return to the NFL seems unlikely.
A court date for Nkemdiche hasn't been announced yet.
