Former Notre Dame running back has declared for the NFL draft

A former Notre Dame running back has opted to leave for the next level .

Logan Diggs , who signed with the Irish in the 2021 cycle as a three-star out of Louisiana has had a long road to the NFL draft. His two seasons in South Bend showed plenty of promise. He rushed for 1,050 yards and 7 touchdowns, but he left Notre Dame following a breakout 2022 season in which he rushed for 820 yards.

Diggs landed back home with LSU. He was effective even though he didn’t surpass his rushing yards from the year before. His touchdown total, however, rose to seven. He transferred once more and spent the last two seasons at Mississippi .

The first season with the Rebels didn’t go well. Diggs played in one game before suffering a season-ending injury. He started this past season with a bang, rushing for 91 yards and a score on 7 carries. That was his best performance of the year. Carries became hard to come by as the season went on. He had seven touches in two College Football Playoff games, but wasn’t a factor.

With running backs having a short shelf life in the NFL and having already lost one season to injury, Diggs opted to move to the next level. Hopefully the decision works out for him.
