Josh Allen ’s offense is getting an unexpected late-season addition.
After the Saints granted Brandin Cooks ’ request for a release, the veteran wide receiver has elected to sign with the Bills . Cooks will give Buffalo’s receiving room a reinforcement as they navigate issues with Keon Coleman , who has twice been a healthy scratch this month.
Now 32 years old, Cooks has six 1000-yard receiving seasons on his resume, including one with the Patriots.
During the 2017 season, Cooks caught 65 passes for 1082 yards and seven touchdowns for New England . The wideout’s time in Foxborough was short-lived though, as Bill Belichick traded him to the Rams after one season, netting a first-round pick used to select Isaiah Wynn .
Cooks returned to the team that drafted him this season in New Orleans , but struggled to get much traction, catching 19 passes for 165 yards in 10 games. The Bills are hoping a change of scenery — and MVP quarterback — will help Cooks turn back the clock.
