Matthew Judon’s red sleeves will be under a Bills jersey this weekend.
The former Patriots star has been elevated from Buffalo ’s practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Jets . Released by the Dolphins in December, Judon landed with the Bills and made a positive first impression on coach Sean McDermott.
“He’s been pleasant to have around, professional in his approach, and has done a good job working with the scout team in the limited time that we’ve had him here,” McDermott said.
A four-time Pro Bowler and terrific pass rusher with the Patriots , Judon’s production has dwindled since being dealt from New England ahead of the 2024 season. Judon had 5.5 sacks and nine quarterback hits with the Falcons last year, and just three quarterback hits and no sacks in 13 games with Miami in 2025.
Eliot Wolf dealt Judon to Atlanta for a third-round pick, which the Patriots exec has turned into three selections thus far. Originally No. 77 overall, the pick was flipped for two more selections. The first deal was with the Chiefs, trading No. 77 for No. 85 and No. 146 (5th round). Then they traded down again with No. 85, getting No. 95 and a 2026 4th round pick from the Bears.
So Judon’s trade tree is currently:
3rd round, No. 95: Jared Wilson
5th round, No. 146: Bradyn Swinson
4th round, 2026: Chicago ’s selection
