The Chicago Bears are signing former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Scotty Miller to their practice squad. Miller rejoins the Bears' practice squad after being released on Sept. 24.
Miller also returns to his hometown team. He was born and raised in Barrington, Ill., which is 37 miles northwest of Chicago.
Miller, 29, had a minicamp tryout with the Bears this spring and signed a one-year contract in May. In three preseason games, he caught seven of 10 targets for 65 yards — third among all Chicago receivers. He also returned three punts for 21 yards.
The Bears released Miller on Aug. 30 and re-signed him to the practice squad.
From 2024-25, Miller appeared in 26 games with the Steelers . He had five catches for 69 yards in 2024 and then returned to make nine grabs for 62 yards in 2025.

For his career, Miller has totaled 99 receptions for 1,216 yards and six touchdowns. His best season came with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during their Super Bowl-winning run, when he hauled in 33 catches for 501 yards and three touchdowns.
Miller also delivered in the postseason that year, adding four receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown, including several key plays during Tampa Bay's playoff run.
After spending multiple seasons with the Buccaneers, Miller later had a one-year stint with the Atlanta Falcons before eventually landing in Pittsburgh in 2024.
Known primarily for his speed and ability to stretch the field, Miller has also carved out a role throughout his career as a multi-phase special teamer and return option. Although his tenure in Pittsburgh was not particularly productive statistically, he notably earned active game-day roster spots over 2024 third-round draft pick Roman Wilson at different points in 2025.
