The Minnesota Vikings continue to churn their practice squad on a weekly basis, which isn't unique around the NFL. Teams around the league are continually adding and dropping depth players from their active and practice squad rosters on a weekly basis.
And from time to time, we see some familiar names surface in new places across the country. But the name that popped up on the transaction wire Tuesday was extra interesting.

That's because, while we have seen Eric Kendricks around Vikings facilities this season, it's been as a podcaster, not player. The UCLA alum was not at an NFL training camp this summer and has not been on a roster this season, let alone play in a game. Kendricks hasn't worn a MN Vikings uniform since 2022.

Part of the above paragraph is about to change, though. Because today he was signed to the Los Angeles Rams practice squad, meaning he could be out of the podcast studio on back on the game day football field as soon as this weekend.

After spending his first eight seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, Eric Kendricks was released and joined the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023. Kendricks then spent 2024 in Dallas, before a brief stint in San Francisco last season.

Since, he's been co-hosting the Bent Outta Shape podcast with former teammate Anthony Barr, a gig that will now sit on the backburner.
Where has Eric Kendricks been since leaving Minnesota?
With the 49ers in 2025, Kendricks got one start across the three regular-season games he played, with six total tackles. He then started both of San Francisco's playoff games, including the Wild Card win at Philadelphia, and made 19 tackles.
In 15 games with the Cowboys in 2024, he added 3.5 more sacks to put his career total at 21.5. What really stood out, however, were the 138 total tackles he produced at 32 years old. Now 34, it will be interesting to see how much he has left in the tank.

The Rams entered the season as Super Bowl favorites , but lost Myles Garrett to knee surgery after their Week 1 loss to San Francisco . They've since started just 2-2, but are coming off an emotional win against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4.
Kendricks won't be the oldest player on the Rams' defense, should he be elevated at some point this season. Aaron Donald was coaxed out of retirement to bolster LA's defensive line. He is 35 years old.
