Former Minnesota Vikings Pro Bowl defensive end Everson Griffen was tased by law enforcement on Interstate 394 early Wednesday and was subsequently booked into the Hennepin County Jail.
An incident report from the Minnesota State Patrol, obtained by Bring Me The Sports, says state troopers were alerted to a pedestrian on westbound I-394 near Dunwoody Boulevard in Minneapolis at 2:51 a.m.
The report says a trooper located Griffen, 38, walking on the left-hand shoulder of the freeway and directed him to leave the roadway. Griffen allegedly "refused to comply with the troopers' lawful commands."
"A Taser was subsequently deployed, and Griffen was taken into custody," the report alleges. "HCMC medics were called to the scene to assess for any potential injuries due to the Taser deployment. Once Griffen was medically cleared, he was transported and booked into the Hennepin County Jail."
