- Four Titans Cut Candidates Ahead of Training Camp

The Tennessee Titans don't begin training camp until late July.
The rookies have to report first on July 23, and the veterans head to camp on July 28. Like many NFL players, these players use this break to go on vacation or spend time with their families.

While Robert Saleh will definitely enjoy this break, he stressed the importance of staying focused on football during this period.
The last thing standing in the way of the 2026 season is training camp and the preseason. The Titans are facing off against the San Francisco 49ers , Seattle Seahawks , and Chicago Bears , with joint practices against all three.
With training camp and the preseason behind us, we are one step closer to the regular season, which also means the Titans will have to make some tough roster decisions.
Tennessee will have to trim its roster down to 53 players, meaning that not everyone currently with the team will be there for the season opener on Sept. 13.

I reviewed four players who could be release candidates below. I thought about including Will Levis , but I think he's going to be traded either way, so I left him out.
Even if the Titans cut a player, he could still be on the practice squad, so it's not officially the end of their time here.
Here are my four picks to for the Titans to cut during or after training camp.
Bryce Oliver , WR
Bryce Oliver had a long shot at making this roster two years ago when he signed with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Youngstown State.
He carved out a role on special teams in his first season, before making his way into the receiver rotation. He played in three games last season as a reserve wideout, but now the room is getting more crowded.

Last season, the Titans' starters were Calvin Ridley , Tyler Lockett , and Van Jefferson at first. Then, Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike moved into starting roles.
It's safe to assume that Dike and Ayomanor are going to make the roster. This means that Oliver will be competing for a spot with Mason Kinsey , Tyren Montgomery, Hank Beatty, Courtney Jackson, Lance McCutcheon , K.J. Osborn and Xavier Restrepo .
Oliver could be still used on the practice squad, but it's hard to picture him on the 53-man roster.
Julius Chestnut , RB
This one will have to come down to how many running backs the Titans decide to keep.

I think Julius Chestnut could be swapped out for Kalel Mullings , as they both are fighting for the last spot in the running back room. One or the other could be on the practice squad if they don't make the active roster.
Chestnut underperformed last season, finishing with only 40 yards.
Now, much like wide receiver, the room is getting crowded. The Titans drafted Nicholas Singleton and added Michael Carter in free agency. Those two are competing for the No. 3 spot in the backfield, making it hard for Chestnut to get playing time.
If anything, Chestnut could be a practice squad player this season.

David Martin-Robinson , TE
The way the Titans approached the draft told us what we need to know on tight end.
In the seventh round, the Titans drafted Oklahoma tight end Jaren Kanak. The Titans already have the order set at tight end, with Gunnar Helm and Daniel Bellinger as the tandem.
There's also veteran Kylen Granson .
This doesn't bode well for a player like David Martin-Robinson. I expect him to make it to one of the last days of cuts, but I foresee him not making the team.
David Ebuka Agoha, EDGE
David Ebuka Agoha has a great story of making it to the NFL.
He entered the NFL through the International Player Pathway Program in 2023, from Nigeria. He first signed with the Las Vegas Raiders that year and then signed a reserve/future contract in January of 2025.

The Raiders released him in April last year, before he joined the Titans in October.
Now that the reserve edge rushers are Solomon Thomas , Cam Horsley , Jaylen Harrell , Earnest Brown IV, Malik Herring , Timmy Horne , Jacob Martin and Truman Jones , I don't see a world where he makes the roster.
This is just too big a mountain to climb for Agoha, a player who spent all last year on the practice squad, going up against NFL veterans.
