- FSU freshman linebacker out for season with knee injury

Florida State had already suffered a tough loss to the SMU Mustangs earlier this week. Now, they'll be without one of their most promising freshman for the rest of the season as Izayia Williams had a procedure done on his knee, per Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports .
Williams suffered a torn ACL last summer that forced him to miss his senior season, and this injury is to the same knee. He would end up missing spring practice for FSU, but he was cleared once fall camp started. Williams also got a little banged up during a scrimmage, but he was still the primary backup to Chris Jones, who the Seminoles got in the transfer portal.
He got his first bit of action on Florida State's season opener against the New Mexico State Aggies with seven defensive snaps and 12 on special teams. However, he didn't log any stats. Nonetheless, Williams was looked at as a player who would make an impact early in the linebacker room.
In addition to Jones, FSU has transfer Mikai Gbayor as well as redshirt Caleb LaVallee who have been lpaying good football so far in 2026. Plus, Omar Graham Jr. is coming off a solid game against the SMU Mustangs. With that said, the absence of Williams is a significant blow to the rotation as he's arguably the most talented player in the group.
