Florida State announced on Sunday that running back Ousmane Kromah will miss the rest of the 2026 season after suffering an injury during Saturday night's loss to the Miami Hurricanes.
"In last night's game, Ousmane Kromah sustained a lower leg injury," the team said in a statement. "He remained in Miami overnight for surgery and returned to Tallahassee this afternoon. We expect a full recovery, but Ousmane will miss the rest of the 2026 season.
Kromah was carted off the field with 1:53 left in the second quarter after a nine-yard first-down carry, with his left ankle being placed in a leg cast.
The sophomore was head coach Mike Norvell's highest-rated recruit in FSU's 2025 recruiting class and quickly became one of the Noles' most impressive playmakers. He's Florida State's leading ball carrier, with 565 rushing yards on 100 carries and five touchdowns; FSU's next-leading rusher is quarterback Ashton Daniels with 323 rushing yards.
Kromah's absence leaves the Noles running back depth incredibly thin. Reserve running back Sam Singleton Jr. is already in the midst of an extended injury, leaving high-profile transfer Tre Wisner and freshman Amari Thomas as next up on the depth chart.
