- FSU safety Karson Hobbs has season-ending injury

Florida State football safety Karson Hobbs will miss the 2026 season with a torn ACL, he announced the news Tuesday night on social media.
Hobbs is entering his first season with the Seminoles after starting his career with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish . The junior was expected to be a contributor for the Seminoles in the secondary.
If you were to tell me last year on this exact date that I'd be where I am honestly I may have chuckled . See it's funny because God can put you in a situation where he wants to see if your worst moments will either bring you towards him to capture your heart or let the Enemy think that you can lean on your own understanding and prosper without The Lord. For the first time in my life I can truly sit back and say I'm entering another season and feeling like Job. After all the hardships last year somehow we ended up right back with another great opportunity again just to find out that my season will no longer forgo due to My ACL being torn. I usually have an answer for situations of how I can shake back knowing that God knows all and his plans never fail but this time I don't know what the Lord has in store for me. But what I do know is that his plan for me is far greater then I could ever imagine and I'm grateful for the countless memories and bonds I've been able to build since I've been at Florida State. I'm truly sorry things ended this way now without getting a chance , but I will be back better then ever knowing that all the pain, the late nights and tears shed were worth it because with God anything is possible and this to shall Pass. Till next year❤️ Leaguecoming.
The Cincinnati, Ohio native played in 16 games over two years at Notre Dame, making one start. He recorded seven tackles, one interception, and one pass breakup. Four of his tackles came against the Texas A&M Aggies last year, his only start.
Hobbs was considered a three-star transfer when he joined the Seminoles this offseason. 247Sports ranked him as the No. 515 player and No. 41 cornerback in the portal. He was one of four defensive back transfers they added as they worked to rebuild their secondary.
FSU is set to open the 2026 season on Aug. 29 when they host the New Mexico State Aggies in Doak Campbell Stadium. The game is set to start at 7 p.m. ET and will be on the CW.
