- FSU Seminoles lose key running for an 'extended period of time'

The FSU Seminoles will be without running back Samuel Singleton Jr. for "an extended period of time," Mike Norvell revealed on Monday.
"Some unfortunate news coming out of the game, Sam Singleton will miss an extended period of time," Norvell said. "Very similar to Blake (Nichelson), where we're hopeful for a return within the season, but it will be an extended period of time that he will be out."
Singleton went down awkwardly after a long catch-and-run in Saturday's loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide , but stayed in the game for another play before leaving. He was shown on the broadcast with a brace on his right knee and using crutches to get to the locker room.
"He's had an outstanding start of the season, some big plays, even on the play he kind of got banged up on, it was an outstanding run," Norvell added. "You're seeing his confidence as a player growing, his understanding, hopeful that we can get him back as quickly as possible but it will be extended."
His versatility has been critical for FSU's offense, which has struggled to start the season. He is third on the team in receptions with eight, third in yards with 162, and first in touchdowns with three. He has also carried the ball 20 times for 73 yards and one touchdown.
While Ousmane Kromah will continue to lead the rushing attack, the Seminoles will need one of their other running backs to step up without Singleton. Norvell mentioned Quintrevion Wisner and Amari Thomas as players who could see more playing time.
Wisner was expected to be one of FSU's biggest offseason additions, but has been their No. 3 running back so far, carrying the ball five times for 34 yards in a limited role. Thomas, a freshman, has not played in a game this season, but Norvell is "really excited about" him.
